Mission.

We represent, strengthen, and advocate for all college and university programs educating fish and wildlife conservation and management professionals.

About Us.

Established in 1991, we have 40 members from more than 30 states who represent 9,000 students and 400 faculty across the U.S. We are the only academic association representing the field of fish and wildlife conservation and management.

Our key attributes including being:

a forward-looking influencer in fish and wildlife higher education.
the primary advocate for research and education funding related to fish and wildlife resources.

What We Do.

We network, garner support and partner for the advancement of the profession. To that end, we:

advocate to increase federal support for USGS Cooperative Research Units and other key science programs, while also promoting education.
link academic programs nationwide and act as a repository of educational materials and programmatic benchmarks.
serve as a forum for best practices in fish and wildlife education and professional development.
contribute to fish and wildlife science, education and outreach.
collaborate with professional associations, state and federal agencies, nonprofits and industry, including The Wildlife Society, American Fisheries Society, USGS Cooperative Research Units, National Association of University Forest Resource Programs, and the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies.
promote pathways and networking opportunities for future professionals.
foster initiatives to increase diversity and inclusion in the fisheries and wildlife field.
